I have a projector with on hdmi slot. I also have a home theater with 1 hdmi slot. The home theater is panasonic sc pt670. I would like o connect my ps3 to the projector and home theater system using only hdmi cables. I know I can hook up the ps3 to the projector using hdmi cable but the sound will come out of the projector. How can I hook up my home theater for sound using the hdmi cable?

you should better buy a new a/v receiver which has many hdmi inputs.this can solve your problem

Use an hdmi cable from the PS3 to the receiver, and an hdmi cable from the receiver to the projector. The sound will come out of the speakers connected to the receiver, and the video will go over the hdmi cable to the projector. If it’s a one box dvd/receiver home theater system, then the dvd will also be going over the hdmi cable to the projector. Use component cables for the cable box, since most cable programming isn’t in 1080p yet anyway. Your PS3 is putting out the best signal out of anything else you have, unless you have a blu-ray or xbox 360, so you want that hooked up with the best cable possible, which would be the hdmi.
