This review is from: Sony KDS-60A3000 KDS60A3000 Lamp with Housing XL5200
I purchased this with some hesitation that it may not be as good as the original bulb shipped with my Sony, but had to take a chance on this because of the price. In addition, I purchased this for a KDS55A3000 set which I found uses the same exact XL5200 bulb and housing as the KDS60A3000. I also got this particular one because it has the housing and I read that it would be easier to replace as a set. Shipping was quick but the bulb wasn’t packaged well. The bulb/housing assembly was simply wrapped in bubble wrap in a much larger box which it could move around in during shipment. This was a concern and I was hoping the bulb wasn’t damaged during shipment. It ended up being fine. The bulb/housing was easy to replace following the directions that came with my television and appears to work as good as the original bulb. After a week of use I am very satisfied with this purchase.

The supplier shipped it very quickly (in less time than stated).
The part is good. Not as good as the original, but it works very well and I am satisfied. There were a good deal of bad stories out there on installing the lamp and it burned out after an hour to a couple of days. But this one is working well and turns on quickly. I have not no problems.
The interesting thing about the lamp is that it is a Phillips lamp. It is not a Sony lamp. But Sony will not tell you that. If you buy this lamp through Sony, it will cost you about $100 more. I think Sony makes the best TV’s and we have bought Sony for a long time ( since the 80′s). Why wouldn’t they just tell you that this lamp is a Phillips and it can be purchased from numerous vendors for less money. Give it up for marketing and accounting for gouching the american consumer, especially in a tough economy.
This vendor came through and everything worked well. Thanks.
